The Truck Driver’s Dream | A Father’s Sacrifice That Will Make You Cry
The Truck Driver’s Dream | A Father’s Sacrifice That Will Make You Cry
It was a dark winter night. Cold winds were blowing across the highway, and only the headlights of passing vehicles could be seen in the distance.
On those lonely roads, Saleem was driving his old truck. He was a poor truck driver whose life revolved around endless journeys — sometimes Karachi, sometimes Lahore, and sometimes Peshawar.
Months would pass before he could return home, but every trip had only one purpose: to give his children a better life.
Back in the village, his elderly mother, wife, and two little children waited for him every day. His daughter Ayesha often called him and said,
“Abu, when will you come home? I want to go to the market with you.” 😔
Saleem would smile and reply,
“Just one last trip, my daughter. Then I’ll stay with you for many days.
But that “last trip” never seemed to end. 🌧️
One night, during heavy rain, Saleem was driving through a dangerous mountain road. His eyes were tired with sleep, but his heart was full of worries for his family.
He thought to himself,
“If I don’t deliver this cargo on time, the owner will cut my payment… then how will I pay my children’s school fees?😢
Lost in these thoughts, he kept driving.
On the way, he stopped at a small roadside hotel for tea. He had only a few hundred rupees left in his pocket. Quietly, he took out a picture of his children and stared at it with tearful eyes.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
It was his wife, crying.
Saleem… Mother is very sick. She keeps asking for you.
Hearing this, his heart trembled. Without wasting a second, he turned the truck toward his village.
The rain grew heavier, and the road became dangerously slippery.
Again and again, Saleem prayed,
Ya Allah… just let me see my mother one last time.
But destiny had something else written for him.
At a sharp turn, the truck lost control and fell deep into a ravine.
The next morning, people found the destroyed truck.
Saleem was lying there badly injured, still holding the photograph of his children in his hands.
Before taking his last breath, he whispered weakly,
Educate my children… so they never have to wander the roads like me…
And then his eyes closed forever.
Even today, people in the village say that Saleem was not just a truck driver…
He was a father who sacrificed his entire life for the dreams of his family.
