Major Hike: Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan Reach Near 400 Rupees Per Litre

The federal government has once again increased the burden of inflation on the public by announcing a significant rise in petroleum product prices. 

According to the issued notification, the price of petrol has been increased by 6.51 rupees per litre, bringing the new price to 399.86 rupees per litre.

Similarly, a major increase has also been observed in the price of high-speed diesel. The price of diesel has been raised by 19.39 rupees per litre, taking the new rate to 399.58 rupees per litre.

According to experts, this increase in petrol and diesel prices will have a direct impact on transportation, food items, and other essential goods.

 In particular, the rise in diesel prices will increase the cost of goods transportation, which may further push up the overall inflation rate.

Government sources state that the increase is mainly due to rising global oil prices and the depreciation of the local currency. However, the public has expressed serious concern over this decision, as rising inflation has already made life difficult for ordinary citizens.

Citizens say that the continuous increase in prices is affecting their daily lives, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage travel and essential expenses.

Economic experts believe that if the situation continues, inflation may rise further in the near future, and immediate and effective measures will be required to provide relief to the public.

وفاقی حکومت نے ایک بار پھر عوام پر مہنگائی کا بوجھ بڑھاتے ہوئے پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں نمایاں اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔ جاری کردہ نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق پٹرول کی قیمت میں 6 روپے 51 پیسے فی لیٹر اضافہ کیا گیا ہے، جس کے بعد نئی قیمت 399 روپے 86 پیسے فی لیٹر مقرر کر دی گئی ہے۔

اسی طرح ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل کی قیمت میں بھی بڑا اضافہ دیکھنے میں آیا ہے۔ ڈیزل کی قیمت میں 19 روپے 39 پیسے فی لیٹر اضافہ کیا گیا، جس کے بعد نئی قیمت 399 روپے 58 پیسے فی لیٹر تک پہنچ گئی ہے۔

ماہرین کے مطابق پٹرول اور ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں اس اضافے کا براہ راست اثر ٹرانسپورٹ، اشیائے خوردونوش اور دیگر ضروریاتِ زندگی پر پڑے گا۔ خاص طور پر ڈیزل مہنگا ہونے سے اشیاء کی ترسیل کے اخراجات میں اضافہ ہوگا، جس سے مہنگائی کی شرح مزید بڑھنے کا خدشہ ہے۔

حکومتی ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ عالمی منڈی میں تیل کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ اور روپے کی قدر میں کمی اس فیصلے کی بڑی وجوہات ہیں۔ تاہم عوامی حلقوں کی جانب سے اس فیصلے پر شدید تشویش کا اظہار کیا جا رہا ہے، کیونکہ پہلے ہی بڑھتی ہوئی مہنگائی نے عام شہری کی مشکلات میں اضافہ کر رکھا ہے۔

شہریوں کا کہنا ہے کہ مسلسل بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتیں ان کی روزمرہ زندگی کو متاثر کر رہی ہیں اور اب سفر اور ضروری اخراجات پورے کرنا بھی مشکل ہوتا جا رہا ہے۔

معاشی ماہرین کا ماننا ہے کہ اگر یہی صورتحال برقرار رہی تو مستقبل قریب میں مہنگائی مزید بڑھ سکتی ہے، جس کے لیے فوری اور مؤثر اقدامات کی ضرورت ہے تاکہ عوام کو ریلیف فراہم کیا جا سکے۔
